Drone Security An app to combat real-time Car theft, a tool for Users and Police Departments alike

Drone Security — An app to combat real-time Car theft, a tool for Users and Police Departments alike

In a world increasingly reliant on smart surveillance, existing vehicle security systems often lack the intelligence, automation, and accessibility users expect. Drone Security was conceptualized to integrate real-time monitoring and control through a connected mobile platform — offering users a seamless way to oversee and protect their vehicles using autonomous drone technology.

Outcome

This began as a passion project sparked by iterating on a random drone prototype. During the redesign I dug into FBI vehicle-theft statistics and explored hardware approaches inspired by consumer trackers like Apple AirTag to enable rapid location and recovery. The prototype combines discreet tracking hardware, automated drone dispatch, and audible alarms to accelerate thief detection and vehicle recovery — and includes interaction patterns for alerting nearby users and coordinating with local law enforcement. The project demonstrates a practical pathway for civilian-to-authority handoff and suggests a scalable model for establishing dedicated drone task-force units within U.S. police departments to improve response times and deter vehicle theft.

Project

Traditional vehicle surveillance systems provide limited visibility, delayed alerts, and complex user interfaces. Drivers need a solution that offers instant awareness, live monitoring, and simple interaction — without the technical friction of traditional hardware setups. The goal was to design an experience that made advanced drone technology approachable and intuitive for everyday users.
